Naturalist Leadership Program (NLP)

Register Today

Designed for middle and high school students, the Naturalist Leadership Program (NLP) educates teens about the marine and terrestrial ecosystems of Nantucket Island in a program that combines environmental education, outdoor adventure, and current research.

Our goal is to provide students with science-related opportunities that include:

  • An outdoor adventure and service-learning program
  • Involvement in scientific research and volunteer service
  • Essential training needed to be an Aquarium and/or Museum Volunteer
  • Eligibility to become a Counselor-in-Training for the Discovery Program's science classes
  • Knowledge acquisition to help in leadership roles in future science or environmental projects

NLP participants will discover the diversity and fragility of Nantucket's marine and terrestrial ecosystems through hands-on learning and guided explorations with our qualified and experienced education, aquarium, and natural science staff. Groups will be a maximum of 6 students per week.
